DESCRIPTION:One of the best ways to make the most of the UCF Climbing Towe
 r is to become belay certified! This Climbing Tower-specific certificatio
 n allows you to belay your friends while continuing to build your climbin
 g skills.\n\nThe Process:\n\n1. Take a belay class\n\nStart with a belay 
 class\, where you'll learn the basics of belaying and climbing safety\, i
 ncluding the belay method accepted at the UCF Climbing Tower. You'll also
  get to practice one-on-one with the UCF Climbing Tower staff.\n\nPlease 
 wear comfortable athletic clothing. Long athletic pants are recommended b
 ut not required. You'll be required to climb during the class. If you hav
 e your own climbing equipment\, we encourage you to bring it.\n\n2. Pass 
 the belay test\n\nAfter demonstrating competency in the required safety a
 nd climbing skills\, you'll complete a belay test. The test includes ques
 tions about the information covered in class and a skills test.\n\nYou mu
 st demonstrate all technical aspects of the UCF Climbing Tower belay proc
 edure correctly to pass. If you don't pass the first time\, you'll be req
 uired to retake the test before becoming certified.\n\n3. Complete five b
 elay check-offs\n\nOnce you've completed the class and passed the test\, 
 you'll need to complete five belay check-offs at the UCF Climbing Tower d
 uring normal operating hours. These check-offs ensure you can consistentl
 y and safely perform the UCF Climbing Tower belay procedure.\n\nWhen you'
 re ready to complete a check-off\, let a Climbing Tower staff member know
