SUMMARY:Disagree with a Professor
LOCATION:Newcomb Commonwealth Room
DESCRIPTION:Disagree with a Professor invites professors and students to e
ngage in lighthearted discussions over free lunch. Each professor brings
three statements they are willing to defend and students are invited to d
isagree with them. Statements range from light-hearted (“washing one’s ha
ir is unnecessary”) to culturally and politically relevant (“Israel and H
amas will not be able to achieve a lasting peace over Gaza.”) The goal be
ing to create a space where students feel comfortable disagreeing with fa
culty outside of the classroom\, forming and expressing their own views w
ith intellectual humility and grace\, and learning how to respond to argu
ments that may be outside of their comfort zone.\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/
