SUMMARY:Screening of "Down By Law"
LOCATION:The Screening Room @ VTIFF\, 60 Lake St
DESCRIPTION:Jim Jarmusch followed up his breakout film Stranger Than Parad
ise with this equally beloved portrait of loners and misfits in the Ameri
can landscape. When fate brings together three hapless men—an unemployed
disc jockey (Tom Waits)\, a small-time pimp (John Lurie)\, and an Italian
  tourist (Roberto Benigni)—in a Louisiana prison\, a singular adventure e
 nsues. Described by Jarmusch as a “neo-Beat noir comedy\,” it’s part-nigh
 tmare/part-fairytale\, with sterling performances\, and sharp black-and-w
 hite cinematography by Robby Müller.\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/events/252ee
