DESCRIPTION:The Government Affairs Committee (aka GAC) is the active stude
 nt advocacy arm of the Associated Students. Chaired by the AS Executive V
 ice President\, this 12-member standing committee is responsible for allo
 cating an annual budget that supports student-centered programs and oppor
 tunities\, establishes the campus elections\, and works throughout the ye
 ar to raise the level of student consciousness on pertinent campus issues
  and works to present the interests and expressed desires of the student 
 body.\n\nMeetings are open for anyone to attend. All meeting information\
 , including the meeting agenda\, will be posted online on the AS website.
