SUMMARY:Copy + Paste Reality — 3D Scan an Object into AR hosted by SJSU Ki
 ng Library KLEVR Lab
LOCATION:King Library Digital Humanities Center\, 150 E San Fernando St\,
 San Jose\, CA 95112
DESCRIPTION:Bring an object. Scan it. Make a digital clone. Then drop it b
ack into the real world using augmented reality.\n\nTurn a real-world obj
ect into a digital 3D model\, place it anywhere with augmented reality\,
and discover how 3D scanning can bring physical objects into the digital
 world.\n\nBring a favorite object\, collectible\, toy\, sculpture\, or ot
her small item and learn how to create a 3D digital clone of it using 3D
scanning technology. In this hands-on KLEVR Lab workshop\, you'll capture
your object\, turn it into a 3D model\, and then bring that model back i
nto the real world using augmented reality.\n\nOnce your digital clone is
created\, the fun really starts. Place your object virtually on your des
k\, make it larger than life\, take it somewhere it has never been\, or p
ull out your phone later and see your object again in AR. Along the way\,
  you'll get an approachable introduction to 3D scanning\, 3D models\, aug
mented reality\, and spatial computing—no previous 3D or technical experi
ence required.\n\nWhat is the KLEVR Lab?\n\nLocated in the Dr. Martin Lut
her King\, Jr. Library at San José State University\, the KLEVR Lab gives
students opportunities to explore emerging technologies and experiment w
ith new forms of digital creativity and learning. We are available as a r
esource to learn how to get support on how to create VR/AR/MoCap projects
\, short term rentals of VR and computing equipment\, and as a place to h
 ang out.\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/events/27e830ba-472a-4061-a4ce-846a5fa3f
