DESCRIPTION:The mission of Synapse is to foster exploration of neuroscienc
 e by providing students with opportunities to become involved in the St. 
 Louis community. We are dedicated to undergraduate students of all majors
  with an interest in neuroscience. (Neuroscience herein defined to includ
 e all sub-specialties including but not limited to: neurology\, neurosurg
 ery\, psychology\, and psychiatry.) ● Inform and educate members of volun
 teer\, clinical\, professional and research opportunities in neuroscience
  in the St. Louis area. ● Help to facilitate access for Washington Univer
 sity students to new and existing opportunities in neuroscience by means 
 of transportation. ● ● Advocate for greater awareness of neurological dis
 orders. Hold fundraisers for verified non-profit agencies with proceeds g
 oing directly to research\, patient care\, or awareness for neurological 
 disorders ● Establish a sense of community within Washington University b
 y celebrating Washington University’s historic touch in the field of neur
