SUMMARY:Demystifying Service-Learning: Elevating Workforce Readiness Throu
 gh Public-Impact Projects
LOCATION:Zoom
DESCRIPTION:Facilitators: Nate Poling\, Center for Teaching Excellence\n\n
Description:\nTrue workforce readiness requires more than technical compe
tency—modern employers are actively seeking graduates who can navigate am
biguity\, collaborate across differences\, and solve complex community ch
allenges. In fact\, the AAC&U national employer report (The Agility Imper
ative) reveals that 76% of employers are more likely to hire graduates wi
th community-based project experience\, and 94% view citizenship developm
ent and workforce preparation as a single\, unified goal.\n\nThis introdu
ctory session explores how service-learning bridges the gap between stude
nt career readiness and real-world problem-solving. We will examine how t
o conceptualize service-learning partnerships that are deeply reciprocal\
, mutually beneficial\, and sustainable for both faculty and community st
akeholders. This foundational workshop is designed to pique your interest
and shift your perspective. You will leave with a clear roadmap and dire
ct access to CTE consultation support.\n\nLearning Outcomes: Participants
will be able to…\n\n1) Identify key components of reciprocal service-lea
rning partnerships that align with workforce readiness.\n\nhttp://next-to
