SUMMARY:Humanities Crossroads: Dialogues for the Future
LOCATION:Eggers Hall Strasser Legacy Room (220) and Strasser Commons\, Egg
 ers Hall\, Syracuse\, NY 13244
DESCRIPTION:Presented by the A&S Dean's Office:\n\nHumanities Crossroads:
 Dialogues for the Future\n\nTime: Nov. 13\, 2026\, 8:30 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.\
 n\nLocation: Strasser Legacy Room\, 220 Eggers\n\nWe are living through p
 rofound change\, as social\, political\, cultural\, ecological\, and tech
nological forces converge to reshape our lives and our shared world. At t
his crossroads\, the humanities are essential to how we understand where
we are\, determine what matters\, and imagine where we might go next. The
Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences invites our community to come t
ogether to explore what the humanities can do\, and become\, at this cons
equential moment.\n\nCrossroads are places of encounter and transition\,
but also decision points\, where we bring different histories\, experienc
es\, and ways of knowing into relation and consider the futures we want t
o build. To that end\, the College is convening a day of dialogues and ke
ynotes to center the humanities as a public good\; highlight how collabor
ation sparks innovation\; explore humanities infrastructures to support s
hared thriving\; and examine the importance of community-engaged work.\n\
nSyracuse University experts join leading regional and national scholars
to explore innovative next steps as we create a generative future for hum
anities research\, teaching\, and public engagement. This day of dialogue
s offers a springboard for continued exploration in Spring 2027\, with en
gagements around shared readings and exchanges. Faculty\, staff\, student
