SUMMARY:Club Equestrian Show
LOCATION:North Shore Equestrian Center
DESCRIPTION:HUET is a member of IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Shows Associat
ion)\, and competes against other schools in the region. IHSA promotes co
mpetition for horseback riders of all skill levels\, who compete individu
ally and as a team at Regional\, Zone\, and National levels. HUET private
lessons/practices take place weekly at Sagamore Hill Stables in Northpor
t\, New York under Coach Debbie Rittereiser. HUET participates in approxi
mately 9 shows a year at the collegiate level. Some of the members contin
ue on to Regionals\, Zones and even Nationals. When Joining HUET\, the co
aches will first evaluate prospective members and will discuss with them
what is an appropriate competing level for them. This will be based off o
 f showing history\, ability\, experience\, and class standing. There is a
show class for everyone (Who have basic riding skills) because the class
es that students are eligible to compete in range from Introductory (Walk
/Trot only) to Advanced (Open fences and Open Flat). All of the riders on
the team are required to come to shows (either to compete\, or support t
he team).\n\nIn IHSA\, every school hosts or co-hosts one show and the ho
st school will provide horses and the facilities for the show. At college
shows\, names are drawn at complete random to determine on which horse t
he riders will compete. Without a warm up\, Students then show in their d
ivisions and when placing 6th or higher\, they will receive individual po
ints and point riders will receive team points for their school. Whe\n\nh
