SUMMARY:Let's Talk
LOCATION:https://zoom.us/j/97713861468
DESCRIPTION:Let's Talk is a free\, confidential\, one-on-one\, drop-in opp
ortunity for students on our San Luis Obispo and Solano campuses to infor
mally consult with a Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) mental
health provider.\n\nLet’s Talk is not therapy\, but you can talk about an
ything on your mind\, share something that recently took place\, or ask q
uestions/seek guidance (e.g.\, how to help a friend\, how to seek service
s\, wanting to learn more about a coping skill). We help one student at a
time\, so there may be a brief waiting period to be seen. It’s like drop
-in office hours … with a mental health specialist!\n\nWant to learn more
about which CAPS provider you'll be meeting with? Check out our Meet the
Staff page. Learn more about other CAPS’ Let’s Talks here.\n\nThings to
consider before dropping into Let’s Talk:\n\n1. Let’s Talk is not a repla
cement for therapy and is not a crisis intervention space.\n\n2. If you s
hare information about planning to harm yourself or others\, and/or share
knowledge of abuse occurring to someone from a vulnerable population\, t
hen the Let’s Talk provider may be ethically required to take steps that
break your confidentiality.\n\n3. If you are experiencing a mental health
crisis\, please call CAPS at 805-756-2511 and either ask for an urgent a
ppointment or select to be connected to our CAPS Crisis Line. You can als
o call 9-1-1 or go to the Emergency Room. Click here for more detailed re
sources about what to do in a crisis.\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/events/6366
