DESCRIPTION:The term Cerebral Palsy describes a number of motor disorders 
 affecting the brain that cause disability in human development. The St. L
 ouis Children's Hospital’s CPSR program provides children with Cerebral P
 alsy opportunities to experience sports in a whole new dimension. The pro
 gram aims to offer a wide variety of sports options that help keep indivi
 duals with CP active for life. Importantly\, CPSR helps children with CP 
 embrace the concept that health and physical fitness are possible and nec
 essary in order to maximize independence. Volunteers provide assistance t
 o teachers and children in a number of rehabilitation classes\, including
  year-long dance and martial arts classes as well as basketball and swim
