SUMMARY:Energy Solutions Forum Presents: Taylor Wilson
LOCATION:Joe Crowley Student Union (JCSU) Great Room (402)
DESCRIPTION:Future of Fusion\, Fission and other Advanced Energy Technolog
ies\n\nIn this talk\, Taylor will explore the global landscape for nuclea
r fusion and fission technologies\, and explore broader themes in the fut
ure of energy production and consumption\, highlighting some of the most
exciting applications for these technologies. This talk will explore the
history of the first atomic age\, lessons for current developments\, stat
e-of-the-art materials and physics that will enable more sustainable ener
gy production and consumption\, spin off technologies\, and his experienc
es from the earliest nuclear experiments to his current work to create su
stainable supply chains for scaling up advanced energy technologies.\n\nD
on't miss this opportunity to engage with one of the foremost advocates f
or nuclear science!\n\nSpots are limited! Reserve yours today!\n\nTaylor
is a physicist who\, at 14\, became the youngest person in history to pro
duce nuclear fusion. He has gone on to develop many award-winning technol
ogies in fields including energy production and storage\, robotics\, mate
rials science\, and biology. Taylor directs several interdisciplinary lab
oratories for fundamental and applied research in nuclear science and is
the founder of Prometheus Industries and Talos Materials. He is also invo
lved in efforts related to defense\, space exploration\, and science-driv
en public policy both in the United States and around the globe\, and wor
ks to infuse a curiosity for science\, technology and the natural world i
