DESCRIPTION:Let’s Talk Healing is a safe\, trauma-informed space for stude
nts on our San Luis Obispo and Solano campuses to receive support around
trauma-related topics. When you drop in to Let’s Talk Healing\, you’ll me
et with one of the members of CAPS Trauma Treatment Team.\n\nLet’s Talk H
ealing is NOT therapy\, but rather a place where students may explore top
ics such as:\n\n• What is trauma?\n\n• What are the different types of tr
auma?\n\n• What types of treatment and resources are available for studen
ts who have experienced trauma?\n\n• How do I support someone who has exp
erienced trauma?\n\n• What are some tools and strategies I can use to sup
port my healing process?\n\nTo learn more about the Trauma Task Force pro
viders you’ll meet with\, check out the CAPS Meet the Staff page.\n\nThin
gs to consider before dropping into Let’s Talk:\n\n1. Let’s Talk is not a
replacement for therapy and is not a crisis intervention space.\n\n2. If
you share information about planning to harm yourself or others\, and/or
share knowledge of abuse occurring to someone from a vulnerable populati
on\, then the Let’s Talk provider may be ethically required to take steps
that break your confidentiality.\n\n3. If you are experiencing a mental
health crisis\, please call CAPS at 805-756-2511 and either ask for an ur
gent appointment or select to be connected to our CAPS Crisis Line. You c
an also call 9-1-1 or go to the Emergency Room. Click here for more detai
led resources about what to do in a crisis.\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/event
