SUMMARY:Galleries of Tizita
LOCATION:Sankofa Video Books & Cafe
DESCRIPTION:The art theme is Tizita\, which directly translates to nostalg
ia or memory. This theme encourages artists to tie themes of memory\, mus
ic\, identity\, and cultural expression together.\n\n→ Central question:
How do we give form to the things we remember\, the things we've lost\, a
nd the things we carry with us?\n\nPurpose of Event: Galleries of Tizita
is designed to curate a collaborative art space for creative students who
want to delve into meaningful expressions of nostalgia. The event will h
ighlight the cultural significance of Tizita\, while also celebrating div
erse communities through different art mediums. In pursuit of this purpos
e\, the event includes open gallery viewing\, Ethio-jazz and Afro-fusion
 music\, artist spotlight presentations\, a cultural segue on Ethio-jazz a
nd art mediums\, and an awards ceremony.\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/events/6
