SUMMARY:SASA | Riparian Carbon Stocks within the Maasai Mara River Basin
LOCATION:Grinter Hall\, 471\, Grinter Hall
DESCRIPTION:Samantha’s research quantifies Riparian wetlands (RWs) soil C
storage and evaluates how livestock grazing and hydroperiod regulates soi
l C stocks and organic matter (OM) quality within the Mara River Basin\,
Kenya. The Mara River is a transboundary system supporting pastoral livel
ihoods\, wildlife tourism\, and downstream fisheries\, making riparian in
tegrity both ecologically and socioeconomically significant. Yet many RWs
in the basin are heavily grazed\, and the consequences of grazing on soi
l C storage and OM dynamics remain unknown.\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/event
