DESCRIPTION:The Marymount Institute presents\n\nCommunity Workshops for Ba
linese Gamelan — An Open Invitation\n\nWith Prof. Paul Humphreys (emeritu
 s) and Prof. Divine Gbagbo\, Department of Music\, College of Communicati
 on & Fine Arts\n\nThe Marymount Institute for Faith\, Culture\, and the A
rts invites faculty\, staff\, and students to experience Balinese gamelan
\, first-hand. With instruments created in the workshop of a master instr
ument maker in the Gianyar region of Bali and currently on loan to the In
stitute from the Department of Music\, these sessions are open to all mem
bers of the LMU community.\n\nGamelan-playing is an integral aspect of co

by this process\, as well as by the beauty of the music and the instrumen

ommunities both inside and outside of Bali. LMU is fortunate to be among
these.\n\nPlease join us in the celebration of music-as-community that is
