SUMMARY:Men's Peer Support Group
LOCATION:Joe Crowley Student Union (JCSU) 420
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Men's Peer Support Group\, sponsored by the Wel
lbeing in Higher Education Network at UNR.\n\nWho is it for?\n\nThis is a
newly created peer support group specifically for employees at UNR ident
ifying as male\, dedicated to creating a space where they can openly disc
uss mental health and challenges.\n\nMen face unique struggles around men
tal health. Nearly 75% of all suicides in the U.S. are men. We believe th
at by supporting one another and changing the narrative around masculinit
y and mental health\, we can show up better for ourselves\, our families\
, friends\, and communities.\n\nWhat to Know\n\nShare as much or as littl
e as you want with structured questions to reflect on such as "how's your
week been?"\, "what's something you want to get off your chest?" and "wh
at's one positive thing from the last week?"\n\nIt’s okay not to be strug
gling to attend - simply being part of the group can offer insight\, supp
ort\, and a sense of belonging.\n\nLogistics and Good to Knows\n\nThe roo
m will be open ten minutes prior to start time to come and get settled. R
egistration is not neccessary\, but please note the session will start pr
omptly and if you arrive more than 5 minutes late you are kindly requeste
d to attend the next session.\n\nWhile this aimed at men-identifying peop
le\, you are encouraged to check out other peer support groups for other
members of the community\, particularly NAMI Northern Nevada and Reno DBS
A.\n\nThe session will be led by an employee at UNR. This is a peer-led g
 roup and i\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/events/87208017-3257-4c9d-b914-d625fd8
