DESCRIPTION:Under current government and corporate AI leadership\, many of
  us feel discouraged or powerless. But if we take strategic action togeth
 er\, we have the power to bring AI under public control and determine how
  it’s used\, how it’s regulated\, and whom it benefits. This workshop ser
 ies provides opportunities for participants to shape AI policy through co
 llective civic action.\n\nIn part\, this final workshop of the semester w
 ill debrief the recent midterm elections in the United States. Primarily\
 , though — and following our first two events on state-level legislation 
 and nation-wide organizing efforts\, respectively — we will now examine t
 he state of things at MIT. Taking MIT’s surveillance cameras as our chief
  case study\, we will hear from MIT faculty who will share their own orga
 nizing experience and map opportunities for ongoing student action.\n\nPl
