SUMMARY:Year of the Fallen Oak | Rachel Boillot – reception + talk
LOCATION:https://app.suitable.co/institution/5366/activities/652963
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a reception and gallery talk! The photograp
hs in Year of the Fallen Oak were made in the Cumberland Plateau during a
time of grief and transition: the unexpected death of my father-in-law D
oug\, the birth of Derrick’s first grandchildren\, and our move to Arkans
as. The making of this work has been a process of saying goodbye to what
was\, a series of unresolved gestures echoing through time. Loss and vuln
erability are topics we explore together as I ask my family members to ph
otograph with me in a spirit of reciprocity and exchange\, collaborating
in a shared exploration of place and memory.\n\nThe exhibit is on view in
Gallery 121 from November 02 – December 04\, and this reception event ru
ns from 4:30-6pm. Students must attend from 4:45-6pm for credit.\n\nhttp:
