 he Campus Ecosystem Model (CEM) was an effort by early faculty at FGCU to
  connect our teaching to regional research needs and to generate long-ter
 m research while giving students valuable training in data collection and
  analysis. The faculty presenters are beginning to re-invigorate this eff
 ort by creating a database of on-campus environmental research efforts\, 
 facilitating use and sharing of data\, and strengthening integration with
  teaching.\n\nThe presenters will offer a history and future vision of th
 e CEM effort\, then open a discussion among attendees for the remaining t
 ime. Faculty and students interested in engaging with on-campus research 
 in the biological and environmental sciences through courses and independ
