SUMMARY:Belonging Before Transfer: EPCC Engineering Students Engaging in U
TEP Research/Activities to Strengthen Transfer and Student Success
LOCATION:313 Templeton
DESCRIPTION:Poster Presentation\n\nPresenters: Ivette Chuca\, Mathematics
 Professor\, El Paso Community College\, Mathematics Department\; Joanne M
oyer\, PhD\, Associate Professor of Instruction\, University of Texas at
 El Paso\, Civil\, Environmental\, and Construction Engineering\n\nThis se
ssion highlights a collaborative partnership between El Paso Community Co
llege and The University of Texas at El Paso that provides engineering st
udents with early exposure to research while still enrolled at the commun
ity college. Through this initiative\, EPCC students work alongside UTEP
faculty and graduate students on engineering research projects\, gaining
hands-on experience while building meaningful academic and professional c
onnections.\n\nDuring this session\, presenters will share the structure
of the partnership\, strategies used to recruit and support students\, an
d the impact the program has had on student engagement\, research partici
pation\, and transfer success. Participants will gain insights into how c
ross-institution collaborations can create meaningful research opportunit
ies and strengthen pathways for community college students pursuing engin
 eering degrees.\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/events/b249dbc1-696f-4fb7-93e9-20
