DESCRIPTION:Trainees in graduate school and those doing postdoctoral work 
 are subject to stressors that are not always within their control. Uncert
 ainty about future employment and how others respond to their work and de
 cisions are just two examples among many. This uncertainty can contribute
  to anxiety\, making it difficult to determine what to do\, what to say\,
  or to whom to turn to for support.\n\nIn this session\, participants wil
 l engage in a reflective process to distinguish which aspects of a stress
 ful situation are within their control\, partly within their control\, an
 d outside of their control. They will then explore strategies for managin
 g uncertainty and coping with aspects they cannot change.\n\n**Lunch prov
 ided on a first-come\, first-served basis**\n\nDe-Stress Power Hour creat
 es space for you to de-stress in a safe environment\, talk to other train
 ees about your experiences\, and learn skills that you can take back into
  your personal and academic life to take control of your situation. This 
 workshop is led by Student Clinicians\, in collaboration with the UAB Mas
 ter of Arts in Counseling program and the UAB Medicine Office of Wellness
 .\n\nTrainees from all programs and departments are welcome – no faculty\
 , staff\, or administrators allowed. This is a safe space for you to conn
 ect with other trainees\, spend an hour to invest in your wellness\, and
