SUMMARY:November 5th Omotesenke Event
LOCATION:Teaparker Teahouse
DESCRIPTION:Japanese tea ceremony (chanoyu) is an incredibly complex\, cho
reographed set of rituals that blend together distinct elements of Japane
se cultural arts. There are three main schools of Chanoyu: Urasenke\, Omo

re important.\n\nWe are inviting the Omotesenke Domonkai Eastern Region U
SA (one of few certified Omotesenke organizations outside of Japan) to co
nduct lessons in the Omotesenke style. Students will immerse themselves i
n Japanese culture and learn the art (Otemae) of preparing different type
s of matcha tea as part of the Japanese tea ceremony\, which includes lea
rning about Japanese ceramics and tea-specific utensils\, seasonal Japane
se decor\, Japanese language\, and tenants of Zen Buddhism.\n\nhttp://nex
