DESCRIPTION:Before the Exam\nYou must have an FCC Registration Number (FRN
 ) before you can take the test. You will not be allowed to take the test 
 without having an FRN. Here is a link to instructions on how to get your 
 FRN.\n\nWhat to Bring\n\n- Official photo ID (Drivers license\, passport\
 , etc)\n\n- FRN\n\n- $10-$20 in cash (You can attempt each level once per
  $10. Retaking the same level costs another $10)\n\n- If you are upgradin
 g\, a Printed copy of your official Radio license. Instruction are here\n
 \nAfter the Exam\n\nNew HAMs: The FCC will contact you within 3-5 days to
  pay the $35 license fee. You have 10 days from the day you took your exa
 m to pay this fee. Your call sign will not post to the FCC database until
  you pay the fee. After your call sign is posted on the FCC database\, yo
 u are allowed to transmit.\n\nCurrent HAMs (just upgrading): Your upgrade
 d license level should automatically post to the FCC database within a fe
 w days. If your license is active\, you do not need to pay any additional
