  historical legends and sagas of diverse traditions\, ranging from the To
 rah to the New Testament\, the Koran to the Mahabharata and Ramayana\, an
 d the myths of Classical Antiquity to the lore of Medieval Europe and Afr
 ica. Each session invites two writers to discuss their materials\, proces
 ses\, and techniques for renewing the old\, and finding new and individua
 l spiritual\, political\, and aesthetic relevance out of a common shared 
 past.\n\nÁlvaro Enrigue is a Mexican writer. He recently published "Now I
  Surrender". His previous novel\, "You Dream of Empires" was listed as a 
 top ten book of the year by The New York Times and the New York Public Li
 brary. He teaches Latin American Literature at Hofstra University.\n\nAnn
 a Solomon is the author of four novels: The Book of V.\, a finalist for t
 he Sami Rohr Prize and Good Morning America Book Club pick\, Leaving Lucy
  Pear\, The Little Bride\, and the forthcoming Cape Folly\, due from Henr
 y Holt in 2028. A two-time winner of the Pushcart Prize\, she has taught 
 writing at Barnard College\, Brown University\, the MFA programs at Warre
 n Wilson and Brooklyn College\, and the 92Y Unterberg Poetry Center. Born
  and raised in Gloucester\, Massachusetts\, Anna lives in Brooklyn\, New
