DESCRIPTION:This Engaged Reading event will feature bell hooks's "All Abou
 t Love: New Visions." This event will take place at the Spencer Museum of
  Art.\n\nDiscussion facilitated with Imogen Herrick (Curriculum & Teachin
 g) and e alexander (Social Welfare).\n\nHealthy democracy fosters an exch
 ange of ideas across experiences and knowledge. Rooting discussion in sha
 red reading and collaborative understanding makes space for this exchange
  to emerge. Engaged Reading promotes learning and inquiry across populati
 ons at the University\, through common texts. Inspired by the KU Reads / 
 Common Book program\, and curated with goals of generous and generative c
 onversation\, this series features broadly relevant texts for reading alo
 ngside facilitated discussion with scholars and practitioners in related 
 fields. This event is presented in conjunction with KU Reads: A Common Bo
