DESCRIPTION:In Islam\, Friday prayer\, or Congregational prayer (Arabic: ص
َلَاة ٱلْجُمُعَة Ṣalāt al-Jumuʿah)\, is a prayer (ṣalāt) that Muslims hol
d every Friday after noon\, instead of the Zuhr prayer. Muslims ordinaril
y pray five times each day according to the sun's sky path\, regardless o
f time zones. Youm Jumu’ah ("day of congregation")\, or simply Jumuah mea
ns Friday in Arabic. In many Muslim countries\, the weekend is inclusive
of Fridays\, and in others\, Fridays are half-days for schools and some w
orkplaces. It is one of the most exalted Islamic rituals and one of its c
onfirmed obligatory acts.\n\nMuslim Student Life at Syracuse University s
upports Muslim students\, faculty\, and staff in all religious and spirit
ual needs for development and growth. It is about accommodation\, opennes
s\, and understanding – not judgement or restriction. Muslim Student Life
aims at improving understanding and representation of Muslim cultures an
d communities here in the US and around the world through sharing our uni
versal values with people of faith and no faith.\n\nFor more information\
