DESCRIPTION:Following a careful meal plan is the first step\nin managing d
 iabetes and keeping blood\nsugars in a therapeutic range. This is also th
 e\nhardest step in diabetes management. Dining\nwith Diabetes helps by te
 aching persons with\ndiabetes ways to reduce sugar\, salt\, and fat\nin f
 oods\, without giving up good taste.\nThe program is designed for individ
 uals with\ndiabetes and their family members. The five\nclass series incl
 udes diabetes education\,\ncooking demonstrations and tasting healthy\ndi
 shes. After each lesson\, attendees will take\nhome recipes and knowledge
  about how to\nmanage diabetes in their daily lives.\n\nAttendees\nAnyone
 \, with or without diabetes\, can attend.\nThis program is designed to co
 mplement\, not\nreplace\, diabetes management classes. Each\nattendee may
  bring one family member\,\ncaregiver or support person at no additional\
 nfee.\n\nInstructors\nClasses are taught by University of Delaware\nCoope
