 es\n\nAI is no longer just about chatting with a chatbot. With AI agents\
 , you can go a step further: AI can write and execute code\, work with fi
 les\, and save the results directly to your computer.\n\nHowever\, UCR do
 es not currently provide institutionally supported AI coding agents such 
 as Claude Code or OpenAI Codex. In this hands-on workshop\, I will introd
 uce OpenCode\, an open-source AI agent application that can connect to di
 fferent AI models through APIs.\n\nWe will explore how to connect OpenCod
 e to the Google Gemini API through UCR ITS services\, providing eligible 
 UCR faculty and graduate students with an alternative way to experiment w
 ith AI agents using UCR-supported resources.\n\nYou will learn the basics
  of setting up and using an AI agent\, see how it can assist with coding 
 and file-based tasks\, and explore practical applications for research an
