SUMMARY:Places Without Birds - Faculty Spotlight: Derek Anstis
LOCATION:PALM BEACH STATE COLLEGE - HUMANITIES BLDG. - ART GALLERY
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening reception of Professor Derek Anstis' e
xhibition Places Without Birds.\n\nIf you sit down to draw a bird\, you m
ay end up drawing a landscape. The bird calls you in\, and you settle dow
n to draw\, but you end up drawing a bridge or\ntree. Birds are notorious
ly fast animals. Even though these drawings only took about 30 minutes\,
that is a lot of time for a busy bird. They really don’t like being stare
d at either. The lack of birds became conspicuous upon review. We need bi
rds in our lives\; their presence is felt even when they are not there.\n
\nProfessor Derek Anstis has taught in the Fine Arts and Graphic Design d
epartment at PBSC for 25 years. He teaches classes such as Design Fundame
ntals\, 3D Design\, Color Design and Graphic Design 1.\n\nExhibition runs
  November 5 to December 10\, 2026.\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/events/e15cbf5
