SUMMARY:Naza @ VTIFF
LOCATION:Film House at Main Street Landing\, 60 Lake Street\, Burlington\,
  VT 05401
DESCRIPTION:Shot covertly at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv\, NAZA focu
ses on conversations with the people involved in the calculated mass kill
ing of Palestinian civilians. In these secret encounters\, the filmmakers
cut through the propaganda to confront a series of operatives with devas
tating facts as reported by independent outlets. The film builds on revel
ations published between 2023 and 2025—in the Israeli-Palestinian publica
tion +972 Magazine\, Hebrew-language outlet Local Call\, and The Guardian
—to reveal the systems behind Israel’s bombing of Gaza. The title refers
to a military acronym euphemistically used by Israeli intelligence to ind
icate the number of civilians that it expects will be killed in an airstr
ike. Directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor\, two of the filmmakers behi
nd the 2024 Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land\, were awarded the Sp
ecial Jury Prize at this year’s Venice Film Festival.\n\nNAZA is also sho
