 Services in the selfless act of giving blood!\n\nIn the U.S.\, someone ne
 eds a blood transfusion every two to three seconds\, and 95% of all Ameri
 cans will need a blood transfusion at some point in their lives. With an 
 unwavering commitment to excellence\, quality\, service\, innovation\, an
 d leadership in every area\, New Jersey/New York Blood Services embraces 
 and values the highest ethical\, humanitarian\, medical\, and scientific 
 standards\, including compassion\, respect\, integrity\, and caring for a
 ll people. They foster a corporate and civic culture that continually ear
 ns and maintains public trust.\n\nIf you would like to donate blood\, ple
 ase bring your valid state ID and make sure to eat and drink before donat
 ing. Students who successfully donate will be able to earn two service ho
 urs for their contribution.\n\nBefore arriving to donate blood\, please m
 ake sure you prepare:\n\n- Get the Dish on Nutrition: eat iron-rich foods
 \, such as red meat\, fish\, poultry\, beans\, spinach\, iron-fortified c
 ereals\, or raisins.\n\n- Be Well Rested: Get a good night's sleep the ni
 ght before your donation\, eat healthy food\,s and drink extra liquids.\n
 \n- Hydrate: Make sure to drink plenty of water before and after your don
 ation\n\nPlease plan to allot 2 hours for the total process\, check-in to
