LOCATION:Pollock Theater\, 34.415051\,-119.848801
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special screening and conversation with writer\,
producer\, and former FBI profiler James T. Clemente\, whose unusual car
eer has moved from criminal investigation to television. During a 22-year

e to crime television as a writer\, producer\, and technical advisor on s
eries including Criminal Minds\, Manhunt\, and Quantico\, while also prod
ucing nonfiction crime programming and working in podcast and audio story
telling.\n\nFocusing on select Criminal Minds episodes that are especiall
y meaningful to him\, Clemente will discuss what it means to translate li
ved experience\, criminal investigation\, and survivor knowledge into tel
evision and popular entertainment. The conversation will range from telev
ision police procedurals and syndicated and cable “true crime” programmin
g to podcasts\, audiobooks\, and newer media platforms\, asking how crime
and justice media can impact public understanding—and where their limits
lie.\n\nProducer James T. Clemente will join moderator Althea Wasow (Fil
m and Media Studies\, UCSB) for a discussion of selections from Criminal
 Minds.\n\nhttp://next-to-u.app/events/f954fbd3-d962-4ed8-a8b5-25a48376622
