DESCRIPTION:Join the Pre-Optometry Organization (POAs) for an interactive\
 , hands-on workshop designed to help students understand and prepare for 
 the optometry school admissions process!\n\nDuring this workshop\, member
 s will explore optometry school prerequisites\, compare admission require
 ments across different programs\, and learn how to build a competitive ap
 plication. Students will also participate in activities to help them plan
  their academic coursework\, prepare for the Optometry Admission Test (OA
 T)\, and identify opportunities for professional development.\n\nWorkshop

 ol prerequisites with your current degree plan to identify any additional
  courses needed.\n\n•\nOptometry School Research: Explore different optom
 etry programs and identify school-specific admission requirements.\n\n•\n
 OAT Preparation: Review the OAT's subject areas\, explore study resources
 \, and practice sample questions.\n\n•\nStudy Group Formation: Connect wi
 th fellow pre-optometry students to form study groups and prepare togethe
 r.\n\n•\nLetters of Recommendation: Learn how to build relationships with
  professors and optometrists and request strong recommendation letters.\n
 \n•\nShadowing Opportunities: Discuss how to contact optometrists\, find 
 shadowing opportunities\, and gain clinical experience.\n\n•\nApplication
  Process: Explore OptomCAS\, supplemental applications\, application time
