Students, Policymakers,Scientists,Urban planners,Emergency management professionals,Educators, andCommunity advocates
From both sides of the Atlantic to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: extreme heat. As Europe and the United States face increasingly frequent and record-breaking heat waves, the forum focuses on practical, scalable solutions that strengthen community resilience, safeguard public health, and modernize critical infrastructure.
Participants will examine how rising temperatures are transforming cities, agriculture, migration patterns, labor productivity, and energy systems. The forum highlights the value of transatlantic collaboration, recognizing that Europe’s experience managing heat in dense historic urban centers and the United States’ challenges across rapidly growing metropolitan areas and sprawling suburbs offer complementary lessons and opportunities for innovation.
Through keynote discussions, expert panels, interactive workshops, and collaborative working sessions, attendees will exchange knowledge and develop actionable strategies for advancing heat resilience. The forum will also foster academic and workforce development by supporting curriculum design, collaborative research initiatives, capstone projects, term papers, senior theses, doctoral dissertations, and recruitment.
By connecting policy, practice, and education, the forum aims to cultivate a skilled workforce and accelerate the development of innovative solutions for a skilled workforce for building more heat-resilient communities.
