NextToU helps students find campus events. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We don’t sell your personal information and we don’t show third-party ads based on it.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address (or your Google account’s email if you sign in with Google) and a password handled by our login provider. You can browse events without an account.
  • Your campus and preferences: the campus you pick, interests, filter and reminder settings.
  • Saved events and reminders: events you save or ask to be reminded about.
  • Class schedule (Premium, optional): class names, days, times and locations you add. If you import a screenshot or PDF of your schedule, the file is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) only to read the classes from it; we keep the classes you confirm, not the file.
  • Notifications: if you turn on reminders, a push-notification token for your device.
  • Subscriptions: your plan and its status. Payments are handled by Stripe (website) or Apple (iPhone app); we never see or store your card details.
  • Invites: if you use an invite link, we store which account invited you and a one-way hash of the network address you signed up from, to stop fake accounts. Your friends only ever see a first name and whether an invite counted.
  • Basic technical data: standard server logs (like IP address and browser type) kept for security and to fix problems.
  • Anonymous usage counts: which categories get used and how long pages are looked at, added up per campus per day. These totals carry no account, no device id and no search words, so they can’t be traced back to you — they just tell us which parts of NextToU are worth improving. They’re deleted after six months.

How we use it

  • To show your campus’s events, remember what you saved, and send the reminders you ask for.
  • To check which events fit around your classes (Premium).
  • To run your subscription and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • To count sponsored-event views and clicks in total (sponsors don’t get your personal information).
  • To see in total which categories and pages students use, so we know what to build next. Never to profile you individually.

Who helps us run NextToU

We use trusted service providers only to operate the app: Supabase (database and login), Vercel (hosting), Stripe and Apple (payments), Google (optional sign-in), Anthropic (reading imported schedules and sorting events into categories — only event details and schedule files, never your account), and web-push services from Apple, Google and Mozilla for notifications.

Event information

Event details come from public university and student-organization listings. Events belong to their organizers; check the original listing for the latest details.

Your choices

  • Change or remove your interests, schedule and saved events at any time.
  • Turn off notifications in Account or in your device settings.
  • Delete your account anytime in Account → Delete my account. This removes your account and everything linked to it. (If you subscribe through Apple, also cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.)

Students under 18

NextToU is meant for college students. If you’re under 13, please don’t create an account.
