About
Join us for the First International Symposium of Latino Oral History, “Listening as Resistance: Oral History, Memory and the Latino Experience” taking place virtually on November 6–7. This two-day symposium will bring together scholars, students, educators, writers, and community members to explore the power of oral history and Latino storytelling as tools for preserving lived experiences, amplifying voices, and challenging dominant historical narratives.
We are honored to welcome acclaimed writer, journalist, and University of California, Irvine professor Héctor Tobar as our keynote speaker.
We invite participants to submit an abstract to present their work or register to attend and learn more about Latino storytelling and oral history practices.
Best paper will get a chance to be published in an academic journal.
Student registration is free.
