About
Join the Howard University Muslim Students’ Association for our 2nd Annual Dinner with the Dean and Community! This gathering is an opportunity to bring together members of our Muslim community, university leadership, and supporters of HUMSA for an evening of food, fellowship, and meaningful conversation.
Come enjoy dinner, participate in games, and connect with fellow students and community members in a welcoming environment. Whether you are an active member of HUMSA, a familiar face in our community, or someone interested in learning more about our organization, we welcome you to join us!
Throughout the evening, we will share an overview of HUMSA, our mission, and the work we do to support Muslim students at Howard University. Our committees will also have the opportunity to highlight their initiatives, upcoming events, and contributions to our community. We will discuss some of our key programs, including HijabFest, the Black Muslim Action Collective (BMAC), and Ramadan at Howard, while sharing how these initiatives create opportunities for education, connection, spiritual growth, and community engagement.
We will also feature a presentation from our Religious Chair as part of his ongoing lecture series, Decolonizing the Muslim Mind. This series encourages us to reflect on Islam as a comprehensive way of life and examine how our faith shapes our understanding of ourselves, our communities, our education, and the world around us. This presentation will provide an opportunity for thoughtful discussion, reflection, and continued learning.
Ultimately, our goal is to strengthen relationships with members of the Howard and surrounding Muslim communities, increase awareness of HUMSA and its initiatives, and build lasting connections with those who support our mission. We hope this dinner will serve as a space for fellowship, collaboration, and renewed commitment to the growth of our community.
We look forward to sharing this evening with you and continuing to build a stronger, more connected Muslim community at Howard University, inshaAllah. JazakAllahu Khayran!
