The GMMA Guest Speaker Series with Dr. John Ma will provide Rice students with an informal opportunity to explore the intersection of Christianity, medicine, and life in healthcare. Rather than a formal lecture, the event will center around an open conversation with Dr. Ma, who will share his experiences and perspectives on navigating his faith throughout his medical career. Students will be encouraged to ask their own questions about topics such as maintaining faith in demanding academic and professional environments, making career decisions, serving others through medicine, and approaching challenges in healthcare from a Christian perspective. The event is open to undergraduates interested in healthcare, faith, or both, and aims to create a relaxed environment where students can have genuine conversations, learn from Dr. Ma’s experiences, and connect with one another.
