About

Launch Your Career is a free, one-hour career development and preparation session hosted by the UNL Student Chapter of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and open to every UNL student. Our chapter's mission is to empower students with resources and opportunities that build teaching excellence, leadership, innovation and industry readiness. This session puts that mission into practice by giving students practical tools to prepare for internships, full-time jobs, graduate school and academic careers. The session will include: • Career pathways overview (15 minutes): How to approach industry, graduate school and academic careers, and how to plan the next steps for each. • Application essentials (20 minutes): Writing a strong resume or CV, building a LinkedIn profile, and preparing a short elevator pitch. • Interview preparation (15 minutes): Common interview questions, how to talk about projects and research, and tips for both technical and behavioral interviews. • Q&A and networking (10 minutes): Open questions with [speakers, such as UNL Career Services staff, faculty or alumni], and time to connect with peers.
