About

Join Pride for a screening of the 4 time international award winning film, The Watermelon Woman at the Multicultural Center.

Wednesday, November 11th from 6 to 8 PM.

The Watermelon Woman is directed by Cheryl Dunye, a Black lesbian. It is about a filmmaker who looks into the life of a historical Black actress, and the roles that she played. Cheesy nachos, some soda, and candy will be provided, but feel free to bring your own snacks and movie blanket as well. Afterward, stay for a special guest speaker, Dr. Caitlin Mercier from our very own psychology department, as she gives a brief dive into the movie and the some connected research about it. We hope to see you there!
