About
Every year, the Notre Dame Women's Boxing Club hosts a three-night boxing tournament, the Baraka Bouts, in support of two secondary schools in Uganda. This year we are celebrating our 24th tournament season.
Our team has been training and fundraising throughout the fall semester to support and enhance the education of the students at St. Joseph's Hill Secondary School in Kyambogo and Lakeview Secondary School in Jinja. This year, we are raising $50,000, with a stretch goal of $100,000, to build a new faculty and staff housing development just 200 yards from campus. The project will include 16 family units and 14 individual units, giving teachers a safe, convenient place to live and helping the schools recruit and keep great educators. In recent years, we have funded a new women's dormitory at Lakeview, as well as a dining hall, science labs, and a student dormitory at St. Joseph's Hill, all with the partnership of the Wolohan Family Foundation. We are blessed for the support that made these buildings possible!
Tickets can be purchased on the ND Student Shop webpage or directly from a boxer. The three nights of the tournament are November X, November X, and November X. All rounds begin at 7pm and will be held in the Dahnke Ballroom, on the 7th floor of Duncan Student Center. All-session passes are $30, which will provide you with access to all rounds of the Bouts. You may also purchase single-night passes for any of the nights for $10 each. Thank you for supporting Women's Boxing, global education, and human development!
