About

Open to all undergraduate Rowan students, each Avant meeting consists of reading aloud weekly submissions from our manuscript, sharing our praises and critiques, and voting to decide if the piece should be featured in our newest edition of the magazine.

Our submissions, limited to undergraduate students, are made up of short stories, poetry, creative nonfiction, artwork, and photography. We maintain the anonymity of every submitting author (even while they are in the room!), and any work that is not accepted is given the chance to be reworked and resubmitted.

Avant is both an excellent way to get your creative work discussed, praised, critiqued, and potentially published, and to have fun making friends and chatting with others in a caring but light hearted atmosphere!
