About
Graduate school can be enigmatic for many students. For them, applying to graduate school and navigating the post-admission process can be unclear, and many students are unaware of what preparation is needed, what to consider, and what resources are available. WSU offers online resources on these topics; however, there are no workshops or sessions where students can engage with current graduate students and/or post-graduate professionals. To address this gap, SACNAS and iPBS are hosting their second Demystifying Grad School session titled:
Entering Grad School: How to Choose a Mentor + Best Practices for Your 1st Year.
In this session, graduate student panelists will lead an informal discussion on best practices for the first year in a graduate-level program. Topics include adjusting to graduate school, balancing research and coursework, and choosing a mentor. This session is for undergraduate students of all levels who want to apply to graduate school but aren't sure where to start, and for first-year graduate students who are just starting to settle into their new programs.
We will host this session on in VBRB 305 at the Veterinary and Biomedical Research Building, 1815 Ferdinand's Ln, Pullman. Food and refreshments will be provided.
We hope to see you there!
