About
Wrap up the semester by making handmade holiday gifts! Learn how to create digital designs for 3D printing, and use the vacuum former to create custom plastic molds. Make winter-themed soaps to take home and use.
PRE-REQUISITE TRAINING: Before attending this workshop, you must complete the introductory BeAM Orientation makerspace training. More instructions on how to complete BeAM Orientation can be found on the BeAM Training page here: (link below)
To guarantee your spot, reserve a seat through the BeAM Coworks app - you will need to search for the specific day/time of the session you want to attend. Find out more about Coworks at the bottom of the BeAM Training page: (link below)
PLEASE NOTE:
• IMPORTANT: You must bring a laptop device that you can use to create 3D designs in TinkerCAD. We also recommend creating a free TinkerCAD personal account before the workshop.
• Want this workshop to count as your 3D Printer training? Make sure to complete the BeAM 3D Printer Training Quiz before you arrive.
• This is a low-capacity workshop, and the first 10 people to RSVP are guaranteed spots. However, if you have a reserved seat, you must arrive at least 5 minutes before the workshop begins to keep your reservation.
• Weren't able to snag a reserved seat in Coworks? You can try to show up 10-15 minutes before the workshop's start time and we will add you to our first-come, first-serve waitlist. 5 minutes before the workshop starts, we will begin filling empty spots with people off the waitlist in the order that they arrived at the makerspace.
• Workshop will start promptly at the listed time. Due to safety restrictions, users will not be admitted once the session has begun. At the end of the workshop, there will be a CLE QR code available for participants to scan. If you have questions, please email beam@unc.edu for help.
