About

Gives students the historical "why" behind current healthcare disparities by tracing U.S. healthcare policy through a specific, underdiscussed case study which is the Indian Health Service (IHS). This event is a timeline walk with 4–5 stations, each covering one era/policy moment. Small groups rotate station to station (poster or slide at each) rather than sitting through one long lecture. At each station there will be a short posted summary and 2–3 small group discussion questions (ex:, "Why do you think this policy succeeded or fell short for Native communities specifically?")
