About
When College starts, a new Journey of Technology starts for residents. whether it's using canvas for the first time, signing up on handshake to get a job on campus, or even networking with other residents and students through Instagram and LinkedIn residents may not always know how to protect themselves or know how to check if something is too good to be true. Tech smart cougars is a program to help promote technology literacy and safety. there will be three stations (tables) where residents will come by to find flyers from the technology help desk on campus. Each of these flyers will contain a different technology hack and safety tip. After going to each station they will explain what the Flyers are telling them and they'll be able to receive some snacks.
With this program
Residents will learn and identify online scams and evaluate information they find on the web.
Residents will find out how to practice safe technology usage, especially when it comes to protecting their information and their privacy.
Residents will check out healthy ways to use technology and how they can incorporate it into daily lives and more importantly their study routines, while upholding academic honesty and standards.
This program will help residents become more informed about technology. By visiting all three stations residents will learn and reflect on how their digital footprint affects them. This program will hit the Technological Fluency Domain.
