As part of the FIT Innovation Speaker Series, Willy Chavarria, founder of his eponymous label and former senior VP of design at Calvin Klein, will be in conversation with Vanessa Friedman, chief fashion critic and fashion director for The New York Times. In a wide-ranging discussion, they will explore cultural identity as inspiration, the challenges and joys of being an American designer today, developing brand identity, and the importance of “building the village.”
