About

What happens when groundbreaking science meets the power of storytelling? Discover how exploration and storytelling can inspire curiosity, build connections, and turn knowledge into action!

Join us for the Milt Glick Discover Science Lecture featuring Dr. Jill Tiefenthaler, CEO of the National Geographic Society, for “Beyond Discovery: Where Science Meets Story.”

Drawing on stories from around the world, Dr. Tiefenthaler will explore how National Geographic Explorers combine rigorous scientific research with compelling storytelling to help people understand our world and inspire meaningful change.

The conversation continues after the presentation with a fireside chat featuring Dr. Tiefenthaler and University of Nevada, Reno National Geographic Explorers Dr. Julie Loisel of the College of Science and Dr. Sandhya Narayanan of the College of Liberal Arts.

Join us for an inspiring evening celebrating science, exploration, and the stories that bring discovery to life. We hope to see you there!
