About

The Vanderbilt BSA R.I.S.E. Initiative provides Ida B Wells, elementary students within engaging tutoring, critical thinking, activities, and arts and crafts experiences. Programming would be adapted to students' grade levels, and the school's academic priorities. Our goal is to create an environment where every participating student has an opportunity to learn, then critically, create confidently, and explore new opportunities.

The program strongly encourages participation from students who are:

• From underrepresented communities.

• From underserved or low-socioeconomic backgrounds, which may include qualification for free/reduced lunch.

Built in Partnership with Schools

Workshop content can be tailored to each school's students, needs, and timeline. Vanderbilt BSA is committed to coordinating closely with school administration so programming complements - rather than disrupts - academic instruction and fits each school's calendar and instructional schedule.
